Compensation: $105,000 – $115,000 per year
Variable pay: 15% bonus tied to achievement of performance goals
The Role:
The Controller role exists to provide overall financial leadership to Tilt Wall Ontario group of companies. This position is responsible for managing all financial operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, cash management, and compliance. The Controller plays a pivotal role in decision-making and providing insights and analysis to support strategic planning and risk management.
The Company:
Tilt Wall Ontario is a tilt-up construction company based in Woodstock, Ontario. Since 2002, we have completed over 100 buildings and installed nearly 5,000 tilt-up panels across the province. Our team has worked on a wide range of projects, including warehouses, schools, offices, data centers, and multi-residential buildings. We specialize in the design, supply, and installation of tilt-up wall panels, working closely with general contractors and developers to deliver efficient and durable concrete building solutions. At Tilt Wall, we take pride in our strong team culture, hands-on approach, and focus on continuous improvement.
Essential Functions:
Provide leadership and coaching to the finance team.
Preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial statements in accordance with the appropriate accounting principles.
Monitor and analyze financial performance and provide insights and recommendations.
Manage banking relationships.
Prepare monthly WIP report.
Prepare cash flow forecasts and ensure cash requirements are met.
Oversee accounts receivable collections and ensure DSO targets are met.
Oversee accounts payable and ensure vendor payments are effectively managed.
Develop operating budgets and forecasts.
Manage capital expenditures.
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Coordinate and oversee the annual Review Engagement.
Support the preparation of annual tax return.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and accounting standards.
Ad hoc projects as required.
Who You Are:
Possess a CPA designation.
Minimum 5 years experience as a Controller or Finance Manager.
5+ years experience in the construction industry.
Proficiency with QuickBooks.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical skills and ability to develop critical insights.
Exceptional leadership skills, including experience developing other team members.
Strong collaboration skills.
Exceptional communicator, both written and oral.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
