2016 TCA Tilt-Up Achievement Award - Richmond Hill Centre

Tilt-Up Construction Richmond Hill Medical Centre

Featuring the economics and beauty of the tilt-up construction method, Richmond Hill Centre provides views and natural daylight to much of the interior spaces. As an architectural feature, the windows are on a seemingly random pattern to create a unique visual character. The unique lot setbacks posed construction challenges. Walls had to be fire rated, and three sides of the building had limited construction access. The use of site-cast insulated tilt-up construction helped overcome both of these difficulties.

TILT-UP ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The Tilt-Up Achievement Awards were established to honor projects that use site-cast tilt-up concrete to introduce new building types, advance industry technology and provide unique solutions to building programs. Winning entries illustrate the variety, beauty, and flexibility of tilt-up construction.
