École élémentaire publique Rose des Vents
Project Details
Rose des Vents large elementary school expansion was a 15,000-square-foot addition featuring 14 classrooms. Which would have typically taken at least half a year to complete. However, thanks to the speed and efficiency of tilt-up construction, the project was completed in an impressive two months.
The contractor overseeing the project faced an aggressive construction schedule and sought methods to expedite the process while ensuring the building’s durability and quality. Tilt-up construction offered the perfect solution. By using 47 concrete panels, both insulated and non-insulated, cast directly onsite in just a few weeks, the project was able to progress quickly without compromising structural integrity. Skilled labor and efficient coordination helped meet the tight timeline.
The panels, designed to bear loads, were erected and finished with multi-colored stucco, which was applied directly to the concrete. This method allowed for a rapid and cost-effective build while still achieving the desired aesthetic. The groundbreaking occurred in June, and by September, the expanded school was ready for students to move in, showcasing just how effective tilt-up construction can be for projects with tight deadlines. This innovative approach not only saved time but also ensured a durable, high-quality finished product for Rose des Vents’ growing needs.
