This 7,115-square-foot expansion on an existing tilt-up-built school at CFB Trenton resulted in a bright and open daycare for families in and around the base.

A great deal of time was spent on the design of the panels. The design needed to allow a great deal of flexibility and light, so large cantilevered panels were used in the panel design to encourage a feeling of openness. The exterior finish used thin brick to match the existing, and stained concrete to give the addition its own unique look. The board also chose a tilt-up layout that allowed for a second-storey addition, which may be needed in the near future.
